GOSSAN. JUNCTION MINE. WILYAKALI COUNTRY. 2023

linen, wool and cotton

46 x 56 cm

Showing in: Eyes on Mosman

About the Artwork

This artwork highlights ecological and cultural issues of mining in Wilyakali Country, near Broken Hill. The intense blue of the digitally printed fabric is inspired by the Broken Hill Cobalt Project. Guided by Aboriginal methodologies of yarning and deep listening, the artist re-imagines this colour as a symbol of resilience and renewal.
