About the Artwork
Inspired by a sunrise I saw in New England National Park, this work throws beautiful shadows on the wall. Materials include foraged Five Leaf Water vine, recycled metal wire and charcoal. The weaving references the ancient basketry technique of looping, using nature as a way to connect with people that goes beyond physical beauty.
 
About the Artist
Catriona uses traditional basketry techniques to transform foraged plant fibre into organic sculpture works that investigate humans’ personal connection with the natural world. She exhibits extensively and has been a finalist in many art awards.
