About the Artwork
As a late-career academic surgeon, I’ve faced life’s fragility and unfairness. My landscapes reflect life’s edges—rivers, forests and deserts—symbolising its finiteness. In this work, a jagged bank and still water conceal hidden threats, making me hesitate before pursuing distant rewards.
 
About the Artist
Mohamed is a practicing professional artist, academic surgeon, author and playwright. He has been a finalist in several art prizes and has exhibited in Sydney and Brisbane. He is a graduate of the National Art School.
