About the Artwork
I have long been fascinated by Early Italian Renaissance painting. Artists such as Duccio and Giotto delicately balance real world observation with the inner world of imagination. I use the elements of colour, shape, tone, pattern, space, form and light to interpret the landscape with its unique flora, forms and colours.
 
About the Artist
Jacqueline Balassa holds an MFA in painting from UNSW. She has exhibited widely around Australia and overseas, won major art prizes and appeared as a finalist in many more. Jacqueline is represented by Art Atrium in Sydney.
